Qatar ships LNG cargo to Japan

Qatar, the world’s largest LNG exporter, dispatched a cargo of the chilled gas from Ras Laffan port to Japan on Tuesday.

The 137,354 cbm Al Khor is expected to arrive at Japan’s port of Nagoya on June 10, according to shipping data.

Qatar started exporting LNG in 1997. The country celebrated achieving record 77 Mtpa of LNG production capacity in December of 2010, reconfirming its position as the world’s leading producer of LNG.
