QP delivers 500th LNG cargo to South Hook

Qatar Petroleum informed on Saturday it has delivered the 500th cargo of liquefied natural gas to the South Hook LNG terminal in Milford Haven, UK.

The milestone cargo was delivered onboard the 216,000 cubic meters Q-Flex Al Hamla, Qatar Petroleum said in a statement.

The majority of LNG cargoes dispatched from Qatar to the United Kingdom are unloaded at the Sout Hook terminal.

However, QP noted that its units Qatargas and RasGas do deliver to the UK’s other terminals saying the total number of cargoes delivered from Qatar to the United Kingdom has reached more than 600.

South Hook LNG terminal is a joint venture between QP, ExxonMobil and Total. It is part of the Qatargas 2 LNG project that ships chilled gas from Ras Laffan in Qatar to international markets.

It includes two LNG trains each with a capacity of 7.8 million tons per annum of LNG.
