Rem Offshore CEO to exit after Solstad merger

rem-offshore-ceo-to-exit-after-solstad-mergerNorwegian offshore supply shipping company Rem Offshore has informed that its chief executive is leaving amid a pending merger with another shipping company from Norway.

Rem Offshore reported on Wednesday that Arild Myrvoll has reached an agreement with the board to resign as CEO in the company. His resignation will be effective immediately after the company’s scheduled general meeting on October 10.

However, the company stated that Myrvoll will be at its disposal until the merger with Solstad Offshore is final in order to facilitate its execution.

The duo announced the merger agreement back in July this year in order to weather the tough times. According to the agreement, the merger would be completed as a statutory triangular merger whereby merger sub will be the surviving company.

Worth noting, Myrvoll is leaving his chief executive position after only several months of performing the role. Namely, following a resignation of Rem’s then CEO Åge Remøy in February 2016, Myrvoll took the job and started in May. He previously served as the company’s chief financial officer (CFO).
