Remontowa: Flag Raising Ceremony Held on LNG Ferry, Poland

Flag Raising for LNG Ferry Took Place in Remontowa Shipbuilding

The ceremonial flag raising on the third of a series of gas ferries built for one of the largest ferry fleet operators in Norway took place in REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING S.A.

Vessel  Barøy, named after one of the  lighthouses located on the north – western side of the island Barøya will soon support car-passenger traffic in this region.

The challenging  water area and  harsh weather conditions of  the coast of northern Norway require using  modern technologies. The picturesque landscape of the Lofoten archipelago tends to use unconventional LNG fuel  propulsion  to allow the reduction of environmental pollution.  Taking into consideration that ferry serves local traffic between islands – it is another advantage of this vessel.

REMONTOWA SHIPBUILDING S.A. has wide experiences  in building sophisticated vessels meeting  the above requirements. It is already seventh vessel  built for this Owner.

The ferry was built under supervision  of classification society Det Norske Veritas (DNV) and the Norwegian Maritime Authority (NMA), designed by the Norwegian office LMG Marin cooperating with the Polish office REMONTOWA Marine Design & Consulting Sp. of o.o.
