Schlumberger Delivers Intervention Services to Industry through SERVCO (UK)

 

Schlumberger today announced at the Offshore Europe 2011 Oil and Gas Conference and Exhibition the combining of its fishing and intervention services, which will be delivered through SERVCO services.

The new service organization will offer fishing and pipe recovery, wellbore departure, wellbore abandonment, and thru-tubing well intervention tools and services.

Increased and more challenging industry activity especially in shale plays and additional government regulations for offshore drilling in the United States and the North Sea is growing demand for well intervention and abandonment services,” said Wesley Heiskell, vice president, SERVCO services. “With SERVCO services we have a global network of experts dedicated to this important service area.”

Since 1946 SERVCO services has provided fishing services to the oilfield industry. SERVCO was purchased by Smith International in 1968; subsequent related acquisitions, some operated under the name Smith Services included Red Baron, AZ International, Tri-Tech, Star Oil Tools and Canfish. Smith International merged with Schlumberger in 2010.
