Sembcorp Marine Announces Changes to the Board

The Board of Directors of Sembcorp Marine today announced the following changes to the Board with effect from 22 April 2014.

Retirement of Mr Goh Geok Ling as Chairman and Director of the Board

Mr Goh Geok Ling will step down and retire as non-executive Chairman and Director of Sembcorp Marine at the Annual General Meeting on 22 April 2014.

Appointed Chairman and Director since 14 February 2006, Mr Goh is also the Chairman of the Executive Committee and Executive Resource & Compensation Committee and a member of the Nominating Committee.

Mr Wong Weng Sun, President & CEO of Sembcorp Marine, said “Mr Goh’s contributions to the Sembcorp Marine Group are immeasurable. We have benefited from his wise and judicious leadership in steering the Group as Chairman of the Board as well as Chairman of our key subsidiaries of Jurong Shipyard, Sembawang Shipyard and SMOE.

Appointment of Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican as Chairman of the Board

Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican, currently Deputy Chairman of Sembcorp Marine, will succeed Mr Goh as Chairman of the Board. He will also assume Mr Goh’s role as the Chairman of both the Executive Committee and Executive Resource & Compensation Committee as well as a member of the Nominating Committee on 22 April 2014.

Mr Goh Geok Ling, Chairman of Sembcorp Marine, said “With his extensive experience in the oil and gas industry coupled with his vast knowledge in finance and management, Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican is well-positioned to steer Sembcorp Marine into its next phase of growth and transformation.
