Skangas starts construction on Pori LNG pipeline

Skangas, a unit of Gasum, said it has started building a natural gas pipeline from the LNG terminal under construction in Pori, Finland, to Kaanaa industrial park.

The connection pipeline is due for commissioning in May 2016, the company said in a statement.

The main gas user in the Kaanaa industrial park is Huntsman Pigments and Additives Oy.

Once completed, the pipeline will also provide other industrial customers with access to natural gas.

Made from polyethene, the connection pipeline will be around 12 km long and wil have an external diameter of 355 mm.

The main contractor selected for the pipeline construction and installation work is Destia, which will also use the services of local contractors, Skangas said.
