Skangas to deliver LNG to Finnish waste management company

Skangas signed a contract with a Finnish waste management company Stormossen for the supply of liquefied natural gas to the company’s first biogas station in Vaasa.

Stormossen supplies biogas produced from waste to the public transportation sector and for passenger cars.

Skangas noted in its statement that LNG will serve as back-up for the biogas supply.

Leif Åkers, managing director of Stormossen said the company plans to build more fueling stations in the future in an attempt to meet the market demand.

The annual production of methane gas at the Stormossen biogas plant corresponds to 1,500,000 liters of diesel. To begin with, the gas will cover the needs of the city’s 12 buses and approximately 1,000 private cars, the statement reads.
