Solstad Farstad wins double extension

Norwegian offshore shipping company Solstad Farstad has secured contract extensions for two of its vessels.

In its Oslo Stock Exchange filing on Monday, the shipowner said it had secured a six-month extension for its platform supply vessel (PSV) Normand Naley, formerly known as Rem Commander.

The contract is now set to run until May 2018 to support operations of an unnamed client in Norway.

The contract extensions for the platform supplier has a total value of approximate NOK 80 million ($10.1 million).

Back in May 2017, the Normand Naley vessel together with three other Solstad Farstad-owned PSVs, Normand Flipper, Normand Aurora, and Normand Skude, was awarded new contracts and extensions which when combined totaled ca 500 vessel days.

Furthermore, the vessel owner said on Monday it had agreed a contract extension for the construction support vessel (CSV) Normand Pacific.

The vessel’s present contract with Prysmian Powerlink Srl, the Prysmian Group’s company responsible for the development of the most advanced “turnkey” submarine cable systems, has been extended with one year until November 2018.
