South Korea: Jan LNG Imports Dive

South Korea imported 2.89 million tonnes of LNG in January, down 41% from the same month in 2011 when the country purchased 4.93 million tonnes of LNG, Korea Customs Service data showed.

The country’s LNG imports rose 46.6% in December to 4,806,964 mt of LNG, compared to the year before.

South Korea’s KOGAS, the world’s largest corporate buyer of liquefied natural gas, said on Monday that it plans to import about 36,46 million tonnes of LNG this year.
