SPIE awarded QCLNG deal

SPIE Oil & Gas Services’ Australian unit won a contract to provide maintenance services to QGC, a BG Group company, for the Queensland Curtis LNG project in Australia.

The French company’s maintenance team will provide planned and unplanned maintenance, identifying and optimising the controls and communications network, according to a statement issued on Monday.

The contract began in early November and will run for an initial 3 year period with an option for a further year. The contract value is set at A$18 million.

BG Group recently started commercial operations at the facility’s second train, assuming control from Bechtel Australia.

The project is expected to hit plateau production by mid-2016 when around ten vessels will be loaded at the facility each month, equivalent to exporting around eight million tonnes per year.
