STR Expands into Aberdeen

Great Yarmouth-based Subsea Technology & Rentals (STR) has set up a new facility in Cults, Aberdeen.

The second facility within the United Kingdom represents a strategic expansion, driven by STR’s Managing Director Scott Johnstone, and should allow STR to provide its full suite of technology and support services to its North Sea clientele.

Scott Johnstone, managing director, STR said: “We believe this is a natural evolution for STR, who already cater to a variety of global clients from our Great Yarmouth facility within the United Kingdom. This strategic initiative to expand into Aberdeen will allow STR to further support its existing North Sea clients with the expertise they have grown to expect, but also allow us to develop relations with new clientele.

“In recent months, STR has invested in its in-house R&D capabilities to design and deliver an innovative solution for its Cathodic Protection and Flooded Member Detection Systems. These systems have been developed in response to bespoke key client requirements in the Offshore Energy Industry, resulting in an increase of awarded contracts from our elite Aberdeen based clients. We expect potential revenues for these products will increase by over £500,000 within the next 12 months.”

As part of the organisations growth, STR have appointed Ka Henney-Cant as sales and business development executive. Ka will be primarily based in the Aberdeen office to support the organisations growth and maximise opportunities.

Scott Johnstone, Managing Director, STR said, “During this exciting time, we are delighted to welcome Ka to the STR team. This appointment highlights our continuous commitment to developing our team and expanding our business development opportunities. Ka is a highly respected professional within the Offshore Energy sector and has near 10 years of industry experience, primarily with ROV & Survey service providers and brings with her a wealth of commercial & business development expertise.”
