The project was the first to use the CBT 1100 Trenching System, which improved cable burial efficiency by allowing cables to be laid in varying soil types without the need for interchangeable tool sets.

Ron Cookson, Senior Vice President of Technip Offshore Wind, said: “This work marks the effective completion of our first award by a German company as well as our first installation contract in German waters. We are delighted to have achieved this milestone and look forward to further expanding our offshore wind and project management services across the European market.”

The 40-turbine development is owned by Trianel and is scheduled for completion later this year.
