Costa Crociere Hires Dockwise Vanguard to Transport Concordia Wreck

Dockwise, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Royal Boskalis Westminster N.V. (Boskalis) has been awarded the contract to load and transport the Concordia wreck from Isola del Giglio onboard the Dockwise Vanguard. The contract was awarded by Costa Crociere S.p.A.

Rolls-Royce Powers World’s First Gas-Powered Tug

Sanmar Shipyard from Istanbul, Turkey, has completed the world’s first gas powered tug built for Norwegian customer Buksér og Berging, which feature two Rolls-Royce Bergen C26:33L6PG engines fueled purely by liquefied natural gas (LNG). Sanmar has on order another tug on order from the same customer.

Bureau Veritas to Class Largest Container Ships Built in China

Leading international classification society Bureau Veritas is to class three Ultra-Large Container Ships (ULCSs) to be built for China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) and chartered to French operator CMA CGM. The ships are due for delivery in 2015.
