Aberdeen-based subsea installation contractor Bibby Offshore has secured a multi-million pound contract with Maersk Oil UK.

2. RRS Discovery Arrives in Southampton, UK

The new Royal Research Ship Discovery has arrived in Southampton for the first time. Over the coming weeks the officers and crew will put her through her paces while conducting equipment trials.

3. Cecon Secures Fast Track Installation Project Offshore Nigeria

Cecon has through Dutch subsidiary Cecon NL BV been awarded a fast track installation project offshore Nigeria.

4. DOF Subsea Wins Installation Services Contract (New Zealand)

DOF Subsea Group has recently been awarded a contract by OMV New Zealand Ltd, for subsea installation services to the Maari Field, Raroa FPSO offshore Taranaki, New Zealand.

5. Subsea Vessel Market Poised for Increase in Demand

The subsea vessel operations market is poised to see an increase in demand in the near term with day rates for some vessels set to increase. Between 2013 and 2017, Douglas-Westwood (DW) forecast $106 billion (bn) of expenditure on subsea vessel operations – an increase of 54% over the preceding five-year period.
