1. DCN Divers Rescue Survivor from Jascon 4 (Nigeria)

On Sunday 26 May, the tugboat Jascon 4 ran into difficulties whilst engaged in static towing operations, capsized and sank with a crew of 12 on board.

4. Ceona’s Polar Onyx Floated Out of Dry Dock at Ulstein Verft

Ceona’s high-capacity flexible/umbilical pipelay and subsea construction vessel, the Polar Onyx, has been floated out of dry dock at Ulstein Verft yard in Norway following an intensive outfitting programme. It has now moved to the shipyard quay where the interior works will be completed and the vessel systems brought online.

5. Shell Floats Hull for Prelude FLNG Facility (VIDEO)

The 488-metre-long-hull of Shell’s Prelude floating liquefied natural gas (FLNG) facility has been floated out of the dry dock at the Samsung Heavy Industries (SHI) yard in Geoje, South Korea, where the facility is currently under construction. Once complete, Prelude FLNG will be the largest floating facility ever built. It will unlock new energy resources offshore and produce approximately 3.6 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) per annum to meet growing demand.
