U.A.E: OMC Takes Delivery of Offshore Construction Vessel Oceanic 5000

UAE-based Oceanic Marine Contractors (OMC) has taken delivery of its state-of-the-art Oceanic 5000, which will service the offshore oil and gas construction sector.

The vessel, the largest of its type in the region, is designed for worldwide operations and will focus on the installation and removal of subsea pipelines and offshore structures.

Built at the ZPMC shipyard in Changxing, the multi-purpose, GL classed vessel recently arrived the UAE where it is being prepared for its first project, installing jackets, topsides and subsea pipelines in the Gulf.

The Oceanic 5000 is capable of laying pipes of up to 60 inches in diametre and in water depths of up to 300 metres. It has a lifting capability of 4,400 Metric Tonnes.
