UK set for first December LNG cargo

The UK’s South Hook LNG terminal is expecting a new delivery of Qatari liquefied natural gas in the first week of December.

The Zarga LNG carrier, with a capacity of 266,000 cubic metres set sail from Qatar’s port of Ras Laffan and is scheduled to deliver the cargo on December 3, shipping data reveals.

One of the largest vessels in the global LNG shipping fleet was built at Samsung Heavy Industries’ shipyard on Geoje island and delivered to Nakilat in March 2010.

The South Hook terminal located on the shores of the Milford Haven waterway has the capacity to process 15.6 million tonnes of LNG a year and is capable of delivering 21 billion cubic metres of gas a year into the UK’s national transmission system.
