Ukraine - Chernomorsky Completes Hull for Damen's Third Multi-purpose Vessel

Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard (Nikolaev) finished the building of the third multi-purpose vessel’s hull of CF 3850 project for Dutch company “Damen Shipyards Bergum”. ChSY constructed the hull with maximum possible, according to the contract, outfitting of ship systems and machinery with level of readiness till 70%. Particularly foundations, ladders, ballast and fuel systems, fire fighting and air pipelines were installed on the vessel.

The enterprise’s specialists installed thruster and rudder propeller unit, performed works on insulation and sheeting of spaces. The vessel is intended for transportation of dry cargoes and containers. The hull is equipped with removable tweendecks, construction of superstructure and grain bulkheads are significantly changed.

The multi-purpose vessel’s designed speed is 12,3 knots, maximal loading is 193 containers of 20 TEU type. The vessel’s length is 88,6 m, breadth is 12,5 m, hull height is 7 m, deadweight is 3,800 t, draft is 5,4 m.

This is already the third vessel, built for our Dutch partners – Damen Shipyards Bergum company. We hope that high quality of works, performed by the shipyard’s specialists, in a short time, will let us enter the complete building of vessels of this series”, –  said PJSC “Chernomorsky Shipbuilding Yard” General Director Valery Kalashnikov commented finishing of the order building.

It will be recalled that the first vessel of the series for Damen Shipyards Bergum company was launched in 2010. Today the shipyard conducts the building of the fourth and the fifth vessels.
