ULSTEIN Designed PSV ‘Sea Spear’ Delivered to Seatankers2

On January 6, 2014, the ULSTEIN designed platform supply vessel ‘Sea Spear’ was delivered from Zhejiang Shipyard, Ningbo, to the Seatankers Group.

The PX105 designed vessels are considered as large PSVs. This design is one of the most attractive PSV designs from ULSTEIN due to the combination of flexibility and large size.

‘Sea Spear’ is 88.9 metres long and 19 metres in the beam, and has a dead weight of 4,500 tonnes. The loading deck area is approximately 1,000 m2. She is equipped with a diesel-electric propulsion system and a comprehensive electrical package delivered by Ulstein Power & Control. Fitted with Azipull 100 propellers, she can reach speeds of 15.5 knots.

Zhejiang, a part of the Sinopacific group, has acquired much experience in constructing vessels of the ULSTEIN designs. ULSTEIN delivers twelve design and equipment packages to Zhejiang. The packages include design, engineering and equipment supplies. The ships comply with the DNV requirements of the Clean or Clean Design standards. ULSTEIN’s local support team at the yard is involved in the completion of the vessels, and all projects are supervised by the Ulstein Design & Solutions’ project department in Norway.
