Army Corps Awards Contract for Manistee Harbor Dredging

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Detroit District, awards a $333,508 contract to MCM Marine, Inc., Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., for the dredging of Manistee Harbor in western Michigan.

MCM anticipates starting in mid-April and wrapping up in late April. The shoaled material will be placed near the shoreline just south of the harbor.

“This important work will keep the shipping channel open in Manistee Harbor, ensuring that essential bulk commodities can be transported in and out of the area,” said Lt. Col. Mike Derosier, district engineer. “The Corps of Engineers is pleased to do its part to maintain a key component of the Great Lakes Navigation System.”
