USACE: Workshops on Water Resource Management

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Sacramento District, will host two public workshops to discuss its study looking at long-term, sustainable integrated water resource management in the Sacramento River watershed, including flood risk management, ecosystem restoration and water supply.

The purpose of the workshops is to meet with interested stakeholders, outline the current status and schedule, and answer questions regarding the Corps’ Central Valley Integrated Flood Management Watershed Study.

A formal comment period will not be associated with these two introductory meetings as we begin a dialogue on potential federal projects,” USACE said.

The watershed study is intended to be the federal companion to California’s Central Valley Flood Protection Plan, and will recommend potential projects that could be undertaken under federal, state or local authorities.
