Valmec grabs APLNG services deal

Valmec said on Tuesday it has been awarded a A$24 million (US$17.2 million) long-term APLNG services contract from Origin.

According to the Australian services group, it will provide specialist technicians, equipment and parts as part of its preventative and corrective maintenance services to Origin as joint venture partner and operator of Australia Pacific LNG’s upstream gas compression and power generation assets in South West Queensland.

The initial contract term is for two years with extension options for a further two years, with works to begin immediately Valmec said.

APLNG shipped its first LNG cargo on January 9 from the Curtis Island facility near Gladstone.
