VEKA Group New Owner of the Madera Ribs

Dutch shipbuilder VEKA Group has announced the takeover of the Madera Ribs.

By the end of last year, the Dutch RIB brand Madera, a top brand for professional and military RIBs, went bankrupt as a result of the weak economy and a focus on a wrong market.

The Dutch VEKA Group has expressed confidence in the Madera products and sees the acquisition as a logical step in their plans of expending their presence in the market for high speed vessels. The newly formed company will continue to operate under the original name Madera Ribs and will be led by Arnold den Boon, CEO of the VEKA Group, and Bjorn Morsink, former owner and founder of Madera Ribs.

“We immediately saw that Madera Ribs is a product which has a great deal of speed in itself and that is something that makes the perfect fit with VEKA”, says Arnold den Boon, CEO of VEKA Group. “We believe in high quality products and see that the security of borders and activities on the water becoming increasingly important in the market. We are confident that Madera Ribs is well positioned to service this market and will be a gateway to new markets for the VEKA Group”.
