Venture Global LNG expands project site

Venture Global LNG said that its Venture Global Calcasieu Pass unit has entered into an exclusive agreement securing an additional 432 acres in connection with its proposed liquefied natural gas project in Cameron Parish, Louisianna.

This expansion will dramatically expand the available land for the project, now totaling 938 acres. Calcasieu Pass will support the long-term development of clean and reliable North American energy supplies, the company said in a statement.

“By nearly doubling the size of its land footprint, the Calcasieu Pass terminal and ancillary facilities have more flexibility in terms of access, buffer zone and construction laydown,” said William M. Wicker, CEO of Venture Global LNG.

At peak construction, the facility will employ approximately 1,500 workers and is expected to create approximately 130 long-term, direct jobs. It is projected to be operational in late 2019.
