VIDEO: building LNG tanks with spiraling method

Midroc Rodoverken, a part of Midroc Europe, posted a video showing how to build an LNG tank with the “spiral method”.

The company recently won a contract to build a 50,000 cbm tank for the EUR 100 million Tornio Manga LNG project in northern Finland.

The contract was awarded by Wärtsilä, the main contractor of the LNG project, and the tank should be completed in summer of 2017.

The main user of the natural gas from the terminal will be the Outokumpu Tornio steel mill, but industries, mines, and other potential gas consumers in the region will also be served.

It may also eventually supply LNG to ships, such as the new icebreaker planned to operate in the Tornio and Bay of Bothnia region.
