Video: Naming of First Philippine-Built LPG Carrier

Business & Finance

Teekay LNG and Belgium’s Exmar held a naming ceremony for M/V Kaprijke on August 24 at Hanjin Heavy Industries Corporation’s Subic Shipyard, the first ever liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carrier to be built in the Philippines.

M/V Kaprijke is the first of eight midsize gas carriers Teekay LNG and Exmar ordered in February 2013 for their joint venture company – EXMAR LPG BVBA.

Back in December 2012, Teekay LNG and Exmar entered into an agreement to create a 50/50 joint venture operating in the LPG carrier segment with a primary focus on midsize gas carriers.
