Vitol: South Hook LNG Terminal to Receive First US LNG Cargo

Energy and commodities company Vitol SA is to import the first US LNG cargo into the UK through the South Hook LNG Terminal, at Milford Haven, Wales.

The vessel, Yari LNG, which loaded at Sabine Pass LNG Liquefaction Terminal, USA, is expected to deliver its cargo to the South Hook LNG Terminal on October 31, 2018.

Flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, the 159,983 cbm LNG carrier is owned by Greece-based shipowner TMS Cardiff Gas, VesselsValue’s data shows.

As informed, South Hook Gas will make available terminal capacity rights to regasify Vitol’s LNG cargo and deliver its gas into the UK natural gas grid. In this way, South Hook Gas will, with the support of its shareholders, affiliates of Qatar Petroleum and ExxonMobil, help diversify the supply of LNG into the UK market, whilst increasing utilization of the facility’s import capacity.

By signing new terminal capacity agreements such as this one with Vitol, South Hook Gas continues to facilitate and diversify gas supply into the UK.
