WATCH: Oceaneering NEXXUS ROV

AJA_7532cropped (1)Subsea engineering specialist, Oceaneering, has launched its latest remotely operated vehicle (ROV) NEXXUS, which is being showcased at the Offshore Technology Conference in Houston.

The Nexxus is a 250 HP 3000 meters standard and 3950 optional depth heavy-work-class ROV. The vehicle is approximately 3 meters in length, 1.5 meters wide and 1.8 meters high.

According to Houston-based offshore services provider, this ROV is outfitted with a toolsled which meets the API Standard 53 requirements for BOP intervention.

The following animation shows the new API 53-compliant NEXXUS ROV configured with two Atlas 7 Manipulators, each equipped with parallel style grippers:

The vehicle is outfitted with two 7 function proportional control (SC or Hybrid) manipulators along with assorted tooling for a broad range of operational capabilities.

Vehicle sub-systems, among other things, include a 4K UHD cameras, high intensity LED lighting up to 8 x 250 W, top-class navigation sensors and obstacle avoidance sonars.
