WATCH: Placing Dvalin Subsea Template on Suction Anchors

DEA Norge has released a video which demonstrates the process of lifting Dvalin subsea template onto four suction anchors at the Aker Solutions yard in Egersund.

The Dvalin gas field, previously known as Zidane, discovered in 2010, is DEA’s first own operated field development project in Norway.

The Norwegian authorities approved the plan for development and operation (PDO) in March 2017. The development costs of Dvalin are estimated at EUR 1.1 billion (NOK 10 billion).

Dvalin will be developed with four subsea wells tied back to the existing Heidrun host platform. A four-slot template will be installed on the seabed with flow-lines and umbilical connected to Heidrun.

At Heidrun, the gas will be partly processed in a new module, before the gas is transported in a new export pipeline to Polarled, going to the Nyhamna onshore gas terminal. At Nyhamna, the gas will be processed and transported to the European market.

First gas is expected in 2020.
