Well-Centric to create ‘largest independent well integrity firm in UK’

UK-based well integrity solutions provider Well-Centric, a FrontRow Energy Technology Group company, has announced the acquisition of rival oilfield services provider Simmons Edeco Europe from its Canadian owner.

The deal will create the UK’s largest independent supplier of well integrity services, with operations in Aberdeen and Great Yarmouth in the UK, and in Esbjerg in Denmark, Well-Centric said on Wednesday.

Simmons Edeco Europe is a provider of wellhead maintenance work, both offshore and on land. Well-Centric has a complementary well integrity service offering, including proprietary technology. The combined entity will trade under a new name – Unity.

Unity will employ more than 120 members of staff, across three strategic locations, and plans to make several new appointments, as well as investments in all three facilities.

Commenting on the combination, Gary Smart, Unity CEO said: “Together we are a great fit, having expertise and experience with all types of wellhead equipment, regardless of the original manufacturer.”
