WiFi Wireless Submits Bid to Establish Network on Four BP LNG Tankers

WiFi Wireless launches “Shipboard Management Systems” (SMS) division and has authorized Hong Kong Harvest Trading Company Ltd. Shanghai Office to submit bid to build a wireless local area network (LAN) on four LNG Ships, vessel type 173K. Construction is scheduled to begin this year.

Hong Kong Harvest Trading is a professional marine equipment and system trading service company having long standing relationships with major shipyards in China including: Hudong-Zhonghua Shipyard, Jiangsu Rongsheng Shipyard, Zhoushan Jinhaiwan Shipyard, Dalian Heavy Industry, etc.

The project buyer/owner for the Shipboard Management System (SMS) LNG Vessel is British Gas (BP). The main functions requested:

  • Onboard WIFI system;
  • Interface connection to Shipboard Integrated Alarm Monitoring System for information display in different location;
  • Interface connection to AIS and GPS for external communication.
