Wison secures rights to build JMU's SPB LNG tanks

Wison (Nantong) Heavy Industry, a unit of Wison Offshore & Marine, has signed a strategic exclusive deal with Japan Marine United Corporation (JMU) for the fabrication of SPB LNG tanks.

Under this agreement, Wison will fabricate SPB containment system with design and technical know-how from JMU, Wison said in its statement.

The SPB technology owned by JMU has been developed by IHI Corporation in 1980s.

“Wison Offshore & Marine is committed to delivering innovative solutions across LNG value chain from liquefaction, transportation and delivery, regasification, to LNG to power,” commented Wenxin An, chief operating officer of WOM

The partnership between Wison and JMU aims to capitalize on the fast-approaching IMO 2020 sulfur cap regulation by providing an LNG fuel tank solution that would meed the market demand.
