ZIM to Upgrade Its MAF Service

Israel’s shipping company Zim Integrated Shipping Services is restructuring and upgrading its Mediterranean-West Africa service (MAF) starting from the end July 2016.

According to the company, the new structure will include wider ports coverage and updated transshipment arrangements.

The company also plans to add a direct service to the Italian market with two direct calls La Spezia and Genoa, as well as updated transit time to Abidjan, Tema and Takoradi.

ZIM said that the service will deploy five 1,850 TEU vessels with an 8-day frequency at first stage, with the following port rotation: La Spezia – Genoa – Tarragona – Castellon – Valencia – Algeciras – Tangier- Dakar- Abidjan– Lagos – Tema – Takoradi– Abidjan – La Spezia.

“This upgrade is part of our ongoing efforts to improve our services in the West Africa Trade,” ZIM added.
