BSEE Safety Month Begins (USA)

BSEE Safety Month started with the first in a series of safety-themed video’s. This first one reviews the importance of safety and highlights some of the activities the Bureau will be participating in throughout the month.

This is the first year that the Bureau has organized a BSEE Safety Month. Events and activities planned include:

– BSEE Safety Stand Down Day- A day when all BSEE employees will participate in 3 hours of safety related training.

– Video Series – BSEE will release a different safety-focused video each week during BSEE Safety Month.

– Occupational Safety and Health Training – In addition to the BSEE Safety Stand Down Day, the BSEE Occupational Safety and Health team will be providing targeted training and educational opportunities throughout the month.

– BSEE Safety Website and Blog- BSEE will establish a safety website and blog with entries from experts on different safety themed topics. Also included on the website will be Bureau specific safety information, offshore safety tips and a feedback box for comments.

BSEE Safety Month is a time when the Bureau hopes to engage employees and the public on workplace and offshore oil and gas safety issues. BSEE Safety Month is held in conjunction with the National Safety Council’s (NSC) Safety Month which is an annual observance to educate and influence behaviors around leading causes of preventable injuries and deaths. Safety Month is observed by agencies and organizations around the country.
