Baker Hughes weekly rig count: U.S. offshore rigs up by 2 from last week

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted Weekly Rig Count report on Friday. According to the report the U.S. offshore rig count has increased by 2 from the last week.

U.S. Offshore rigs at 54. Up 2 from last week.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. + 30 to 1861 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 30 rigs from last week to 1861, with oil rigs up 24 to 1534, gas rigs up 7 to 323, and miscellaneous rigs down 1 to 4.

U.S. Rig Count is up 107 rigs from last year at 1754, with oil rigs up 153, gas rigs down 43, and miscellaneous rigs down 3.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 54, up 2 rigs from last week, and up 5 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada – 31 to 168 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 31 rigs from last week to 168, with oil rigs down 16 to 69, and gas rigs down 15 to 99.

Canadian Rig Count is up 46 rigs from last year at 122, with oil rigs up 3, and gas rigs up 43.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
