U.S. offshore rig count down again

According to the Baker Hughes Weekly Rig Count report, the U.S. offshore rig count is down three rigs from last week.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. +8 to 1930 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 8 rigs from last week to 1930, with oil rigs up 18 to 1609, gas rigs down 10 to 320, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.

U.S. Rig Count is up 187 rigs from last year at 1743, with oil rigs up 242, gas rigs down 49, and miscellaneous rigs down 6.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 58, down 3 rigs from last week, and unchanged year over year.
BHI Rig Count: Canada -10 to 420 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 10 rigs from last week to 420, with oil rigs down 17 to 232, and gas rigs up 7 to 188.

Canadian Rig Count is up 63 rigs from last year at 357, with oil rigs up 18, and gas rigs up 45.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
