Baker Hughes: Offshore rigs down this week

Baker Hughes Incorporated has announced a Weekly Rig Count report to its Investor Relations website. Just like last week, offshore rig count is down again this week. 

BHI Rig Count: U.S. +9 to 1927 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 9 rigs from last week to 1927, with oil rigs up 5 to 1595, gas rigs up 4 to 332, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 0.

U.S. Rig Count is up 189 rigs from last year at 1738, with oil rigs up 238, gas rigs down 44, and miscellaneous rigs down 5.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 55, down 2 rigs from last week, and down 7 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada +9 to 426 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is up 9 rigs from last week to 426, with oil rigs up 1 to 232, and gas rigs up 8 to 194.

Canadian Rig Count is up 22 rigs from last year at 404, with oil rigs down 17, and gas rigs up 39.

Canadian Rig Count is up 29 rigs from last year at 388, with oil rigs down 4, and gas rigs up 33.
The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
