Prosafe said on Friday that its Safe Caledonia unit will be supporting TotalEnergies at the Elgin complex.

The firm duration of the contract, starting in mid-March 2022, is 270 days with one 30-day option.

Jesper Kragh Andresen, CEO of Prosafe, said: “After the Safe Caledonia safely and efficiently operated for TotalEnergies at Elgin in 2017 and 2021, Prosafe is extremely pleased to be awarded this contract for operations in 2022. We take this as a reflection of the high performance and flexibility that the Safe Caledonia offers.”

Namely, TotalEnergies, then Total, in August 2019 awarded a contract to the Safe Caledonia unit for operations support at the Elgin complex. The contract was supposed to start in mid-April 2020 for the duration of 162 days.

However, come April 2020 and the two companies agreed to delay the Elgin campaign by one year. The firm duration of the contract was then scheduled to start around late 1Q 2021.
