One of Solstad’s largest CSVs fully commited until end of 2027

One of the largest construction support vessels (CSVs) in the Solstad fleet has won a contract award that will keep it fully committed until the end of 2027.

As Solstad Maritime (SOMA) reported, the CSV Normand Sentinel secured the award with an international subsea contractor for operations worldwide. The firm contract is set to begin early next year and includes a one-year option after its conclusion.

The 2015-built vessel is of Vard 3 07 design, it is 142,6 meters long, can accommodate 130 people, and is equipped with two active heave-compensated subsea cranes, moonpools, and 1,800 m2 deck.

As part of the charter party, Solstad Maritime will deliver, with support from Omega Subsea, two work-class remotely operated vehicles (WROVs) with full manning, as well as tooling, survey services, and project personnel.

The commercial terms and conditions are confidential between the parties.

Of note, Kongsberg Maritime was appointed last year to upgrade the Normand Sentinel from AZP 120 CP mechanical thruster to RD-AZ2600 rim-drive azimuth thrusters, said to allow fuel savings of up to 16% during transits and up to 40% in DP mode.
