While revealing the award of a contract for one of its large-class (E-class) vessels in the Middle East, GMS explains that the 1,624-day deal spans two years, including options. The company did not specify the name of the vessel that will be used.

The E-class category encompasses four self-propelled, self-elevating accommodation DP II jack-up barges: the 2010-built GMS Endurance and GMS Endeavour, the 2013/2014-built GMS Enterprise, and the 2016-built GMS Evolution.

Mansour Al Alami, GMS’ Executive Chairman, commented: “We are extremely happy to have secured this contract, which once again highlights the strong demand for our vessels and services.

“The additional contracts we announced recently add up to 2,354 days and we look forward to further strengthening our backlog.”

This contract win comes months after GMS secured another deal for a large‐class vessel in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
