ABG joins forces with GTT for GAIL’s tender

Another Indian shipyard is preparing to enter the bidding for GAIL’s tender to acquire nine LNG carriers that would transport the chilled gas from the US from 2017.

According to Live Mint’s report, ABG shipyard signed a cooperation deal with GTT of France.

The same source earlier reported that Cochin Shipyard tied up with Samsung Heavy Industries while L&T Shipbuilding, a Larsen & Toubro Unit joined forces with Hyundai Heavy Industries.

GAIL intends to reissue its tender with revised requirements, one of which could be to split it in two tender with six vessels to be build abroad and three vessels to be built in India.
