Anadarko elects new director

Anadarko Petroleum Corporation, a U.S.-based independent oil and gas exploration and production company, has elected David Constable to serve as an independent director of the company with immediate effect.

The company said on Tuesday that, before joining Anadarko, Constable was the former President and CEO of Sasol, an international integrated energy and chemicals company based in South Africa. Constable was in charge of a group-wide change program, which resulted in the creation of the organization’s new operating model.

Also, Constable spent nearly 30 years at Fluor Corporation where he served in various leadership positions including the position of the company’s President of Operations. He currently serves as a director of ABB and is a member of The Business Council and the World Economic Forum International Business Council.

Anadarko Chairman, President, and CEO, Al Walker, said: “David’s experience as a public company CEO, as well as his project-management expertise and international business experience, make him a particularly good fit for our Board of Directors.

“We are incredibly fortunate to have the benefit of David’s global perspective in the boardroom.”

The oil company on Tuesday posted a loss in the second quarter of 2016 compared to a profit in the prior-year second quarter.
