Atlantic Offshore’s ERRV to work for Repsol Sinopec

Shipping company Atlantic Offshore has been awarded an emergency response and rescue vessels (ERRV) contract with Repsol Sinopec Resources UK Limited.

According to Atlantic, the contract is for the 24-year old Ocean Tay and will begin on January 21, 2017.

The company also said that the contract is for a three-year firm period with two yearly options.

Before this contract, the Ocean Tay worked for three years with Nexen UK. Initially, the vessel was awarded a two-year firm contract with a 12-month extension option.

For the purpose of the Nexen contract, which began in December 2013, the Ocean Tay underwent conversion in Sunderland so it could comply with UK class A standby requirements.

After the initial contract had expired, Nexen declared a one-year option for the vessel which expired this month.

The 63-meter long and 15-meter wide vessel is owned by Atlantic Offshore Scotland and built in 1992 in Zhejiang, China. Ocean Tay is a DNV classified vessel with a gross tonnage of 1,673 tonnes which can accommodate 20 people.
