Baker Hughes: Offshore rig count unchanged

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted Weekly Rig Count reports to its Investor Relations website, according to which the U.S. offshore rig count remains unchanged from last week.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. +4 to 1858 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 4 rigs from last week to 1858, with oil rigs up 3 to 1545, gas rigs up 1 to 311, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 2.

U.S. Rig Count is up 99 rigs from last year at 1759, with oil rigs up 140, gas rigs down 38, and miscellaneous rigs down 3.
The U.S. Offshore rig count is 59, unchanged from last week, and up 5 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada +21 to 265 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is up 21 rigs from last week to 265, with oil rigs up 17 to 166, and gas rigs up 4 to 99.

Canadian Rig Count is up 68 rigs from last year at 197, with oil rigs up 19, and gas rigs up 49.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
