Baker Hughes: Offshore rigs up by 4

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted Weekly Rig Count reports to its Investor Relations website according to which the offshore rig count is up. 

BHI Rig Count: U.S. +3 to 1920 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 3 rigs from last week to 1920, with oil rigs up 3 to 1575, gas rigs unchanged at 344, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 1.

U.S. Rig Count is up 145 rigs from last year at 1775, with oil rigs up 178, gas rigs down 31, and miscellaneous rigs down 2.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 58, up 4 rigs from last week, and down 3 rigs year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada -16 to 422 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 16 rigs from last week to 422, with oil rigs down 17 to 212, and gas rigs up 1 to 210.

Canadian Rig Count is up 20 rigs from last year at 402, with oil rigs down 18, and gas rigs up 38.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
