Baker Hughes: Weekly offshore rig count rises to 62

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted Weekly Rig Count reports to its Investor Relations website according to which the U.S. Offshore rig count rose to 62.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. + 19 to 1908 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 19 rigs from last week to 1908, with oil rigs up 15 to 1588, gas rigs up 3 to 316, and miscellaneous rigs up 1 to 4.

U.S. Rig Count is up 130 rigs from last year at 1778, with oil rigs up 203, gas rigs down 70, and miscellaneous rigs down 3.
The U.S. Offshore rig count is 62, up 4 rigs from last week, and up 5 year over year.
BHI Rig Count: Canada – 5 to 387 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 5 rigs from last week to 387, with oil rigs down 4 to 222, and gas rigs down 1 to 165.

Canadian Rig Count is up 29 rigs from last year at 358, with oil rigs down 8, and gas rigs up 37.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
