Baker Hughes weekly rig count: U.S. offshore rigs down by 3

Baker Hughes Incorporated has posted its Weekly Rig Count report. According to the report the U.S. offshore rig count has dropped by 3 from the last week.

BHI Rig Count: U.S. + 9 to 1818 rigs

U.S. Rig Count is up 9 rigs from last week to 1818, with oil rigs up 11 to 1498, gas rigs down 2 to 316, and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 4.

U.S. Rig Count is up 80 rigs from last year at 1738, with oil rigs up 141, gas rigs down 59, and miscellaneous rigs down 2.

The U.S. Offshore rig count is 47, down 3 rigs from last week, and down 1 rig year over year.

BHI Rig Count: Canada – 63 to 235 rigs

Canadian Rig Count is down 63 rigs from last week to 235, with oil rigs down 45 to 110, and gas rigs down 18 to 125.

Canadian Rig Count is up 29 rigs from last year at 206, with oil rigs down 7, and gas rigs up 36.

The Baker Hughes Rotary Rig Counts are counts of the number of drilling rigs actively exploring for or developing oil or natural gas in the United States, Canada and international markets. Baker Hughes has issued the rotary rig counts as a service to the petroleum industry since 1944, when Hughes Tool Company began weekly counts of US and Canadian drilling activity. Baker Hughes initiated the monthly international rig count in 1975.
