Cable Solutions secures contracts from Aker Solutions and Kvaerner
- Business & Finance
Cable Solutions Worldwide Ltd, which celebrated its 10th anniversary this year and is based in Aberdeenshire’s Craigearn Business Park, has secured a frame agreement to supply electrical wire and cable to Aker Solutions ASA and Kvaerner AS facilities worldwide.
Cable Solutions Worldwide Ltd, which will supply the services as a joint venture business set up as Cable Solutions GK Ltd – working in conjunction with US based Gaffney-Kroese and Korean based LS Cables – will provide topside and later subsea cabling (subject to qualification) to Aker Solutions and Kvaerner.
Cable Solutions Worldwide Ltd provides electrical, electronic and data solutions for all industries, specialising in the oil and gas sector both on and offshore.
The joint venture will see the group provide the service under an initial three-year frame agreement with the option for another 2 + 2 years extension. Cable Solutions GK Ltd will carry out work as one of the preferred suppliers globally for Aker Solutions and Kvaerner.
Ricky Gill, joint managing director of Cable Solutions Worldwide, says, “Securing this frame agreement is a complete game changer for us. We are a small but highly experienced team of twelve staff in Kintore, but knew we had the contacts and working relationships with other companies to enable us to form a super group which would be able to facilitate such a large-scale agreement. The tendering process has been extensive, so to have secured a frame agreement is the best possible outcome for all the hard work and planning that went into this.”
Gill continues, “With years of experience supplying cable into the offshore oil and gas, subsea and marine sectors worldwide, our team has gained unrivalled skills and a unique portfolio of bespoke cable designs through our in-house design department. All of our cables are designed using flexible specification wire and materials, making our subsea cable perfect for harsh environment dynamic applications.”
