CargoFlexX Delivers Dry Bulk Handling System to Maersk

CargoFlexX b.v. has delivered a fully automated dry bulk handling system to Maersk Supply Service. The new system for Møller-Maersk was delivered within a record-breaking time span.

The dry bulk handling system has been installed on-board of a Maersk Supply Service vessel from 2009. The system’s components as well as the needed storage tanks have been delivered to Singapore and have been installed during a conversion.

The project was completed within a record-breaking time span of only 4½ months from signing the contract. This included the detailed engineering and fabrication of the pressure vessels needed for storage and transportation of the dry bulk. In addition to the pressure vessels, CargoFlexX also delivered all other involved components as well as the fully automated cargo control system, which was developed by CargoFlexX.

Ton Castel (managing director CargoFlexX) said: “The challenge for the delivery of this system was not only the tight delivery schedule but also to fit the relatively large system in an already existing, but small space.”
